Äntligen..Äntligen!!

Nu..har vi börjat med byggnationen av vårt nya showroom / butik. Vi har satt riktigt grova brädor på väggarna, som sen kommer att behandlas, så att vi får fram den råa, grova "looken".. vi gillar!! och som kommer att bli en snygg, gedigen fondvägg till alla sköna prylar som vi kommer att fylla detta rum med..

 Finally .. finally!

We have now started with the construction of our new showroom / shop. We have put really thick boards on the walls, which then will be processed, so that we get that raw, rough "look" .. we like!!! and it is going to be a nice, solid wall to all beautiful things that we will fill this room with ..swords, helmets, clothes, jewelry and loads of other goddiestuff..
Hopefully it will be finished around Christmas. More info will come!!

Så här kan det vara en vanlig dag på viking.se...Lådor, kartonger och nya varor i hög efter hög. Spännande!! Vi har precis fått hem en ny sändning med helt nya produkter, som kommer att läggas in i shopen så fort som möjligt...Vapen, smide, smycken och en hel del andra godsaker..Så håll koll och utkik på sidan!!

Alex  Kiss The Exhibition

Idag har vi haft besök på företaget av Alexander Johansson. Alex har Sveriges absolut största samling av Kiss prylar och har visat upp sin samling på många prominenta ställen runt om i vårt avlånga land. Samlingen innehåller allt från skivor till kläder, samt alla andra tänkbara saker som kan förknippas med ett så stort och kultklassat band som Kiss är. Många av de föremål som ingår i samlingenn är unikat och  personliga tillhörigheter från de olika bandmedlemmarna. Som Alexander själv säger.." Man måste nog vara lite galen om man håller på med sådant"..Vi är böjda att hålla med!! och sällar oss till denna "galna"skara, då vi själva har en ganska fin samling orginalrekvisita från bla filmerna om ARN, alla dokumenterade och har används av huvudrolls innehavare. Alex medverkade också själv som statist i filmen om ARN, så det blev ett kärt återseende av saker som minner om "fornstora" dagar.Alex har på bilden, dagen till ära..Arns tempelriddartabard, samt den mantel, som han använde i det heliga landet.På väggen bakom honom hänger bla Arns dolk, skölden som Ulvbane använder i den berömda scenen vid Axevalla ting, samt svärd, som används av b la  Birger Brosa. Vi hade en trevlig dag med mycket prat om film, prylar och annat som gör livet värt att leva! Vi tackar Alex för att han kom och hoppas på att få träffas snart igen!

Today we had a visit at the company by Alexander Johansson. Alex has Sweden´s largest collection of Kiss stuff and has shown his collection in many prominet locations thoughhout our country. The collection includes everything from Cd´s , old vinyl to clothes and lots of all kind of other cool stuff, that may be associated wiyh such a large and cult-rated band as KISS is. Many of the items has belonged to the band members and they are quite unique..one of a kind. As Alexander himself says.." You´ll have to be a just little bit crazy to be doing this "...We are inclined to agree and has joined this " crazy crowd"..then we..ourselves have a pretty nice collection of original props from the film of ARN .. Kingdom of Heaven..and Lords of the Ring..all documentedand and has been used in the movies by main cast members. Alex also took part himself, as an extra in the movie about ARN..so it was sort of a "welcome-return- of- good old days"..when he tried on Arn´s  tabard and cloak..which he used in the holy land. At the wall behind him , you may spot the dagger Arn used, The shield Ulvbane used in the famous scene at Axevalla Ting...The sword Birger Brose wore..and there is more :)

We had a very nice day, with lots of talk about collections, movies and other stuff that makes life worth living!

Det är sommar och solen strålar oftast på oss..men det händer ju att det inte är så och vi "tvingas" tillbringa tid inomhus, då kan det vara på sin plats att piffa upp lite och förnya ett och annat i hemmet. Här kommer lite tips på väldigt snygga och hedniska väggdekorationer i trä, som är oerhört delaljrika och välarbetade.

It's summer and the sun is shining on us ..Well most of the time anyway!! :) but not all the time, and at thoose  occasions we are "forced" to spend time indoors. It may be appropriate to spruce up a bit and renew a few things in the home. Here are some examples of very good looking , pagan wall decorations in wood, which is extremely delalj rich and very detailed.

The rune stones are also very true to life, after it´s role model. All the stones are exact copies of the original, which then can be found at various locations around Sweden, among others. Good gifts for all and one was! You can find more models in the shop .. Viking.se.

Idag har det varit en tålamodsprövande dag för mig och Viking.se..Internetuppkopplingsstrul....telefon som behagar fungera när det passar och bryter glatt mitt i ett samtal..Stön!!
Detta är ju en mardröm när man driver internetbaserad verksamhet...Men i morgon är en ny dag och utvilad kommer jag att kasta mig på mail,telefon och order igen!  Happy Days!!

Today has been a patience day for me and Viking.se .. Internet Fiddling ....  A phone that pleases  to work when it suits and happily breaks of in the middle of a conversation .. Moaning!

That's a nightmare when you run Internet-based business ... But tomorrow is another day and rested, I will throw myself on the mail, phone and order again! Happy Days!

Sigrid Storåda!

Vi tog en liten tur i den ljuva sommarnatten och hamnade i Blombergs hamn där vikingaskeppet Sigrid Storåda ligger för ankar

We took a little trip in the sweet summer night and ended up at Blombergs port where the vikingship Sigrid Storåda is anchored.

Hur skeppet är byggt Sigrid Storråda är byggt som en kopia efter Gokstadskeppet. Gokstadskeppet hittades 1880 i en gravhög på gården Gokstad i Vestfold i Norge. Det var i väldigt bra skick och finns att beskåda i Vikingaskeppshuset på Bygdøy utanför Oslo. Sigrid Storråda är 24 meter långt, 5,3 meter som bredast och väger 17 ton. Det är byggt i ek, nitat med järnnitar och utrustat med 16 par åror av gran.
Varje roddare sitter på en kista gjord i furu. Skeppets 11 meter höga mast är av furu och kan fällas akterut. Den ryms då i skeppet. Skeppets 12 meter långa rån är av gran och seglets yta är 104 kvadratmeter. Det ståtliga drakhuvudet i alträ (från kinnekulle)är formgivet och hugget av skulptör Martin Hansson i Husaby . Som förebild har man använt en runsten vid kyrkan i Husaby, beläget bara ett par mil ifrån Blomberg. Drakhuvudet går att fälla nedåt vid seglats. Träsniderierna på för- och akterstäv har Anette Gustavsson gjort. Marlene Kangas har gjort drakhuvudet på rorkulten.

How the ship is builtSigrid Storråda is built as a copy after the Gokstad ship.The Gokstad ship was found in 1880 in a burial mound on the farm Gokstad in Vestfold in Norway. It was in  a very good condition and is on display in the Viking Ship Hall at Bygdøy outside Oslo. Sigrid Storråda is 24 meters long, 5.3 meters wide and weighs 17 tons. It is built of oak, riveted with iron rivets and equipped with 16 pairs of oars of fir.
Each rower sits on a coffin made ​​of pine. The ship's 11-meter high mast is made ​​of pine and can be folded aft. It fits where in the ship. The ship's 12-meter-long robbery is of spruce and the sail area is 104 square feet. The grand dragon's head in the alder wood (from Kinnekulle) is designed and carved by sculptor Martin Hansson Husaby.
